Similar to LISST-100X, it too holds calibration for life.

  • Measures Particle Size and Concentration
  • Particle Size Range:  1.0 to 500 microns
  • Small angle VSF: 0.039 to 13.8 degrees.
  • Extended Depth Rating: 600 meters
  • Automated Pass/Fail report on Backgrounds
  • Half the physical size of the LISST-100X
  • Smarter data file structure
  • Analog output of size and concentration
  • Plug and Play Compatible with most CTDs

LISST ABS

LISST-ABS

Sequoia Scientific, Inc. is proud to offer the first low-cost acoustic backscatter sensor designed specifically for measuring suspended sediments. This is a new type of sediment sensor, superior to optical backscatter sensors (OBS).

LISST Deep

LISST-Deep

The LISST-Deep instrument obtains in-situ measurements of particle sizedistribution, optical transmission, and the optical volume scattering function(VSF) at depths down to 3,000 meters. Using a red 670nm diode laser and a custom silicon detector, small-anglescattering from suspended particles is sensed at 32 specific log-spaced angleranges. This primary measurement ispost-processed to obtain sediment size distribution, volume concentration, optical transmission, and VSF. The LISST-Deep is programmed and operated like a LISST-100X.

LISST-Infinite

LISST-Infinite

The LISST-Infinite instrument is designed for use in hydro-power plants to monitor sediment concentration and size distribution for turbine protection. The instrument is installed near intakes, or near draft tubes. The turbid water pressure is reduced to 5 PSI or less and then piped or pumped to the LISST-Infinite. A clean water source is provided for automated dilution. The automated dilution enables the LISST-Infinite to measure silt concentrations from ~5 to 30,000 mg/l.

LISST Portable XR

LISST-Portable | XR

The LISST-Portable|XR is the world’s first and only battery powered portable particle size analyzer. It can be used in the field, in the laboratory or on the factory floor. The LISST-Portable|XR analyzes the sample in a wet state to obtain the particle size distribution and the particle volume concentration. The LISST-Portable|XR uses the same laser light scattering method (laser diffraction) as popular laboratory particle size analyzers.

LISST StreamSide

LISST-StreamSide

The LISST-StreamSide is developed specifically for monitoring applications, for example sediment monitoring in shallow streams and rivers or for storm runoff. It can also be used as an in-line instrument system, for example in a flow-through system on a research vessel.

LISST Holo

LISST-Holo

The LISST-Holo from Sequoia is the world’s first commercially available submersible Digital Holographic Particle Imaging System. The system was developed by Dr. Alex Nimmo Smith at the Marine Institute of the University of Plymouth (UK) and Sequoia holds a world-wide license for manufacture. The LISST-HOLO is particularly well suited to the measurement of large, complex flocs and biological particles. However, existing users are also using the unit to investigate frazil ice formation. Others are considering use of the LISST-HOLO to measure the size distribution and concentration of falling snow flakes in situ.

LISST Hydro

LISST-Hydro

The LISST-Hydro instrument system is designed to supplement Sequoia’s LISST-Infinite instrument in hydro power monitoring applications or work as a standalone instrument for hydro power plants where the sediment concentrations do not exceed 700-8,000 mg/l.It incorporates a complete optics and electronics system for measurement of size distributions and concentrations. Water is delivered to the system from the river via a pump, or from the hydropower plant via a pipe or hose, e.g. from the draft tube. The LISST-HYDRO is designed to operate with line power. A SCADA data display on a dedicated monitoring computer in the powerhouse is available. With the LISST-HYDRO, Sequoia offers economical turnkey solutions for hydro power monitoring applications.

LISST VSF

LISST-VSF

The LISST-VSF from Sequoia is the world’s first commercially available submersible instrument for measuring the volume scattering function (VSF) of water in situ with some polarization discrimination capability. The LISST-VSF covers the angular range from 0.094 to 150 degrees. The data are with 1-degree resolution in angle, so that the instrument is capable of seeing enhanced bubble scattering. Integration of the VSF provides an excellent estimate of beam scattering coefficient b. The range 0.094 to 14.9 degrees is covered with Sequoia’s standard ring detector optics as used in the LISST-100X.

LISST STX

LISST-STX

The LISST-STX is a submersible field instrument developed for in-situ observation of the size-dependent settling velocity distribution of suspended particles. It incorporates a mechanized Settling Column. The LISST-STX is designed to carry out multiple settling experiments while submerged. A motorized mechanism operates the doors that control exchange of water between the settling column and the ambient environment. This permits repeated settling experiments.A separate built-in motorized stirrer is used to agitate and flush out settled particles after each settling experiment.

LISST-SL2

The LISST-SL2 is a our most powerful multi-parameter river sediment monitoring instrument. Delivers real-time Point-Integrated, Depth-Integrated, or time-series data. Replaces old technology samplers.

The streamlined body is a minimum drag shape. In measures depth, velocity, temperature, concentration and size distribution of sediments and other auxiliary parameters. Based on laser diffraction.

The system employs active control of an intake pump that matches intake velocity to river velocity (iso-kinetic). [The features section below lists new features.]

LISST STOKES

LISST-STOKES

The LISST-STOKES from Sequoia is the world’s first commercially available submersible instrument for measuring the depolarization ratio in situ. Temperature and depth is included for each measurement. Also the beam attenuation at the two wavelengths is included with each measurement. Power is applied externally, either via an external power cable or an external battery pack (included). Data processing is performed using MATLAB scripts, which are supplied open-source and free of charge with the instrument to the user. No Windows software exists or will be supplied for the LISST-STOKES; the user MUST have MATLAB and be proficient in its use to process LISST-STOKES data.
